This module allows healthcare providers to send prescription requests or authorize patient and pharmacy requests for refills electronically. The telephone/IVR refill requests are electronically routed to the physician’s TelMedica desktop application where he can automatically approve, disapprove or request additional information. Once approved, scripts can be printed for a patient; sent via fax or in a compliant electronic script format to a pharmacy. The ReminderMedica module generates a voice broadcast advising the patient that the request has been completed. Prescription history is automatically maintained in the TelMedica relational database for future reference as an important element of EMR. Future versions of application will interface with drug formularies and check the prescription database against possible drug interactions improving the quality of care provided.
